Much of the community area is new development (since the 2000s), and families are drawn to the fresh feel of new and affordable homes. The Marksheffel area, located just east of the Powers area, is currently being developed and has the same easy access to outstanding amenities that the Powers area offers. Banning Lewis Ranch and Claremont Ranch are the two major master planned communities in Marksheffel.

Located at an altitude of approximately 6,700 feet, you can expect to see average highs in the lower 40s and lows dropping to 20 degrees in the winter months. Summertime temperatures average about 82-85 degrees with the lows in the 50s. Snowfall in Powers is average for the Pikes Peak region.
