Colorado Springs Housing Market Hits a Record Low in February

A recent report from the Pikes Peak Association of Realtors has found that Colorado Springs home inventory is at a historic low: “the number of single-family homes for sale in February stood at 1,228. Back in July, it was 2,360. In February of 2017, there were 1,344 available.”

Moreover, the prices for a home in the Pikes Peak region have continued to rise. Homes for sale in February 2018 are, on average, 13 percent higher than homes for sale in February 2017. According to a recent article published by The Gazette, only 53 percent of the Colorado Springs homes sold in February for $300,000 or less.

This is a result of many factors. For example, the short supply of new construction homes. It is also the result of homeowners sitting tight: many fear that if they sell, they may not be able to find or afford another home in the area.
